Katy Siler, LMFT
I enjoy spending time with my partner and our girls. We also have two very beloved cats who brings lots of adventure to our lives. In 2021 My spouse and I opened The McPherson, where my office is located. We have the pleasure of hosting art shows, live music and other events that support the creative community in Rockford.
I graduated from Northern Illinois University summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in Sociology. My education in Sociology inspired me to pursue a program focused on social justice issues. After an amazing education and training experience, I graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters in Human Development and Family Studies, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am licensed in Wisconsin (No 1261-124) and Illinois (166.001333) as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
After graduating I worked with children, teens, families, couples and individuals at many levels of care and in many settings. I have enjoyed helping clients at all levels of healing – from individuals who were piecing life back together after a psychiatric hospitalization, to people who just need to talk through the stresses in life. A theme in all of my experience is that I focused on helping clients see the issues from a systemic perspective. I specifically have provided treatment for individuals who are LGBTQIA+. I have worked in private practice since 2019 and greatly enjoy the freedom I have to work in a way that allows me to provide quality care. I have exceptional colleagues and clinical supervisors who support me professionally to be the best clinician I can.
